A few days ago, news broke that Michael Douglas’s son with his former wife, Diandra Douglas, had been arrested on a drug charge. For the first time, Cameron Douglas‘ parents are speaking out about their son’s actions.

“The family is devastated and very disappointed in Cameron’s recent behavior. Any family who has dealt with substance abuse knows how devastating it can be,” Michael’s spokesperson said.

Right now, Cameron is being held at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City. He was originally confined to his Manhattan apartment, but broke the terms of his home detention when he asked his girlfriend to bring him a hidden supply of heroin. Wow, Cameron. Really?

If convicted, he could spend anywhere from a minimum of 10 years to the rest of his life in jail.
