Famed Movie Director, John Hughes, Dies
Movies will never be the same.
John Hughes, the writer/director who brought teen angst to the big screen, died from a heart attack while taking a walk this morning in New York City. He was in town visiting family.
We have a lot to thank Hughes for, as without him, Molly Ringwald and Matthew Broderick might not have become big stars, nor would we know the famous line, “Eat my shorts.” Some of Hughes’ most famous films include The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Uncle Buck and Some Kind of Wonderful.
His rep confirmed his passing to the LA Times. John Hughes was 59.
