Professional WWE wrestler Chris Kanyon, whose real name is Christopher Klucsariti, has died. According to the Indy Wresting News, he was found in his Queens home in what appears to be an overdose of pills. There is no confirmation as to whether or not it was intentional or if that is the official cause of death.
Kanyon was a New York City native, he was born and raised in Queens. He attended school in Buffalo and began his wrestling career in 1992 at the age of 22. He started off by training in New York with Bobby Bold Eagle. In 1993 he joined Smokey Mountain Wrestling where he did enhancement work for their television show. It was during his time there that he also did some enhancement work for the World Wresting Federation. In 1995 he became a part of the United States Wrestling Federation, it was through that organization that he became apart of World Championship Wrestling or WCW. That is when his career kicked into full gear, he would wrestle as a number of different characters. In 2001 he found himself at the World Wresting Federation through WCW Invasion. After a few injuries, some of them major, Kanyon decided to retire in 2004. However in 2009 he decided to make a comeback. He had a few matches in the New York City area as he tried to return to the profession he loved.
Chris appeared in the film Ready to Rumble which was a WCW backed movie. He used his time in Hollywood to help him create some characters that he would later play in the ring.
If you are a wrestling fan than you know that the 40 year old Kanyon was gay. It was a personal issue he struggled with for years before coming out.
